Myrtle Beach Real Estate by Mirela

Real Estate is Not For Sissies

I have a good problem:  I have too many listings that I've just sold and too many Buyer clients that are buying.

In the midst of one of the busiest seasons I've ever had, my long time assistant quit and so did my property manager (they were married and they went on their merry way together).

I have several agents and most of them are out:  one had back surgery, the other had a death in the family, and yet another is having health problems.

I have not been able to work out in days, I am wearing the same clothes over and over again and I can't remember when I've had my last meal.   I smile when I am faced with yet another fire to put out.  By the grace of God, my friends are coming out of the woodwork and lending me a helping hand, and my clients and associates are all so understanding.

This is when most people throw in the towel.  With me it's exactly the opposite: this is when I am most energized.  I am discovering things about this business that I just love, and I can't wait till I have enough time to delve into the unique opportunities I have just uncovered under duress!

My new assistant is starting in less than two weeks - Hooray!!!- and I am able to solve all the problems and list, sell and close yet several properties every week.  I thank God for my health and for the understanding of my clients, friends and associates!  I thank my significant other for standing by me and being so helpful.  Kudos to my daughter for being so sweet and accepting of the little quality time we've had together lately and really maximizing it with grace.  I am one lucky woman!

I'm certain that I am not the only one going through challenging times right now.  I would love to hear your stories!  Now, more than ever, it's quite clear:  Real Estate is not for Sissies!

I can't wait to hear from you!

What happened?  Did they swing open the flood gates?  Is this the bottom?

Is your market as busy as ours?  How are you dealing with it?

Losing my assistant will be a nightmare for me. . I can just imagine how much time will it take for me to train another one. We don't realize how much work has to be done to take a transaction to the closing table. good luck and you are right. ..there is nor room for excuses and certainly no sissies allowed.

Hi Mirela!  some how I think I know you well enough that I knew you would thrive in conditions like this!  I know that I cant get out of my own way when I am slow, but pile it on and I become an efficient machine!

Mirela it does sound like a chanllenging time.   Although pressure does tend to bring out the best in some of us where those that rise to the occasion are the winners.  You certainly are a winner!

Congrats to You!!! I do much better when I am busy than when I am slow.  I seem to operate on one speed, and that's craziness, when it's slow, I don't get anything done.  Hope all works out with your new assistant and your agents get through their obstacles, good luck with it all and enjoy the rewards!!!

Mirela: Your is a good problem to have. I have never thought that there could be too much business. The best thing to do is refer out some of the buyer clients to the other agents in your office. And whatever you do, take care of your health. Make yourself eat ~ and do not eat through the drive through window! Have done that one before, it brings on the pounds and it is not good for you. So glad that you are so busy and that you have such a good attitude.

Mirela, I am busy, but not like that! I am busier with real estate than I have been in a long time, and I welcome it.

I did come home today from showing all afternoon, walked in the house and looked around and realized that if I dont' take a day and clean it will be a problem. The problem with that is, I have been working non stop for a few weeks. Plus anyone that knows me knows I have farm chores. The animals just don't wait. I have cut back and only do the farm at night, but that is a few hours out of my time, and I am tired!

For some reason hubby is not helping. He is stressed now too, so I am trying to ignore.

The good news, I am putting him on a train to NYC this Friday for almost a week, his students are in the finals of a very intensive ballet competition. While he is gone I plan to spend a day to myself, cleaning. Might even take the night off from the farm if I can.

I feel for you! Take a moment for yourself if you can. But who can complain about real estate business???? I'm happy about that.

Mirela, I was like that a few weeks ago. I was staying in a hotel in Tampa while Billie was in the hospital. I had more business than I knew what to do with and was really getting stressed, Then I woke up one day and hired 2 agents and my work load dropped immediately as did my stress factor. Having too much business is a good problem to have.

Mirela, that was a cool juggling guy. Things have definitely picked up and we all just have to "make hay while the sun is shining!"

I wish I had some of your problems - too busy to change clothes - I would gladly welcome a few days like that.  Good luck

When it rains it pours!  I'm glad to hear that business up your way is picking up.  We've been busy down on the south end lately too and I couldn't be happier.  We are still having a lot of issues with buyers not being able to get financed and closings falling apart at the last minute but we are getting more offers and showing more property lately, which is great!

Keep it coming!

I'm sorry that you are having problems and some of the problems are certainly good ones to have (lots of business!).  I am in love with that little picture of the guy and the balls.  I've never seen one like that before.
