Myrtle Beach Fire & Funeral Update:

Phew!  What a whirlwind!  Within the past 48 hours I've had even more action than I usually have, and that means it was pretty intense!

My Grandmother passed away.  I organized the funeral, facilitated the clean-up of her room at her nursing home, gathered up the family, got her cremated, had a beautiful celebration of her life, closed two deals, put out several fires and got one of my listings sold.  Phew!  Can I catch my breath now?

Thank you for the lovely e-mails and your concern for my welfare!  I am so lucky to have such a great extended family!  I appreciate your support so very much and I have no words to describe how important you have been to me throughout this very trying time.   God Bless you!   I am enormously grateful for you, my Active Rain Family!

I just wanted to give you a quick update and let you know that all is well here.  The fires have been contained.  We are not getting evacuated and we've had a wonderful family reunion.   I'll be back with more details later.  My Grandmother's magic unfolded a great story, one that I will tell you in the days to come.

Glad to see that you are okay ... nice family photo and I know your grandmother would be pleased with all you have done leading your family through all of this.  Looking forward to reading the next story in tribute to your grandmother's "magic."

Mirela, I am relieved that the fires didn't cause problems for you. You are one busy lady, but take a bit of time for yourself? 10 minutes on the beach?

Randy, I don't usually get quite so excited about an offer, but this was a good one and my Sellers were really hurting. It meant a lot to them and I was so happy about it. I've been working relentlessly to sell their property and I've left no stone unturned. Their stress level has just gone down several notches due to this event...

Mirela, I TOTALLY understand your excitement at closing that deal.  I've had a few of those in my life where you just went the extra miles to make it happen for some hurting clients, and there's nothing like that feeling when the deal finally records.  Way to go, lady!   :)

Jason: We thought we might have to evacuate earlier today. I was OK with it.

As I was leaving the house, on my way to my two closings on the other side of town I told my family: If we get evacuated while I'm gone, just make sure you bring Grandma's ashes!"

I am not emotionally attached to anything I own. Everything is replaceable. As long as we're healthy and well, we can re-build anything.

Mary, you are always so sweet and you always speak to my heart.

Anthony: Thank you very much!

Larry: I really appreciate it!

Sheldon:  Those are some lovely words.  Thank you!  To inspire others would be the best gift.

Hannah:  Rest?  That's what vacations are for.  I am taking one in July.  I plan on visiting Alaska.  Any tips?

Andrea:  We had a wonderful time on the Beach tonight with our entire family.  That charged me right up again.

Joan:  Thank you very much for your concern and kind words!  About Grandma's magic...  wait till you read the blog about it!

Jan:  Thank you so much for your support!  I got your other messages.  It really means a lot to me: it makes me even stronger!

Mirela, I had no idea you had been through so much. I'm glad you are alright. You have strength, grace, tenacity and the ability to keep going no matter what. Rare combination.  You are an inspiration even in times like this.

Mirela--I am glad to hear your grandmothers magic "unfolded a great story" and look forward to hearing it in the days to come.  Our thoughts are with you and the family.

When we heard about the fires, my partner and I thought about you and wondered if you'd be blogging with fire 20' outside your door???  I'm so glad to hear you are safe.  I know your strength will get you through all of this.  Again, our thoughts are with you!

Glad the fires are contained. And your Grandmother brought you a multitude of luck. She will always be in heaven looking out for you... Better believe it.  Glad you have so much fun with your family and real estate action...

To have that loss and deal with a catastrophe back-to-back can be a big blow.  Some people choose to let it defeat them while others gain strength from learning they can handle it & go on.

WWGD? (What Would Grandma Do?) - she'd keep plugging along & make sure everyone is safe!

Glad to hear you're OK & bearing up well.  Thoughts & prayers to your family & community.
