Anti BP Oil Spill Protests are sweeping the World. Calling the oil spill disaster in the Gulf an economic and environmental mess, groups across the country have taken to the streets in protest, calling on BP to plug the leaking well immediately and urging the United States Government to take over the clean-up operation. This Memorial Day Weekend marked the start-up of National Rallies against BP, with Protests occurring throughout the United States: New Orleans - Los Angeles - San Francisco - Portland OR - Seattle WA - Washington DC - New Orleans LA - New York City - Boston MA - Austin TX - Lafayette LA - Baton Rouge LA - Minneapolis St. Paul - Philadelphia PA - Athens, OH - Whiting, IN - Clearwater, FL - Daytona Beach, FL.
Major Media had very little coverage of it all, but Social Media sites were buzzing with activity covering the protests. BP has cordoned off the areas of destruction, making them inaccessible to Journalists, who can no longer tell the story of the Biggest Ecological Disaster to ever hit our country. No Flights are allowed (nothing under 5,000 ft) over the destruction areas, and a general Information Blackout has ensued. If you want news of the frenzy of activities, you have to turn to the Social Media for coverage. Hundreds of groups have been formed on Facebook covering the people's plight for a resolve of this crisis. On Twitter you can just use the following hash tags to glean the latest activity on the oil spill debacle: #oilspill #BP #oilpocalypse. Turning to YouTube used to garner more visual proof of the destruction, although lately, with this cordoning off of the affected areas, you can only find old images recorded before this black-out ensued.
Here is a list of upcoming Rallies scheduled for June and July all across the United States. Please submit any other upcoming events not already on the roster, by entering them on the wall of our BP=Biological Predator Facebook Community Page, or as a comment to this blog. This is day 46 and we are no closer to a resolve. If things don't drastically improve soon, we will have a World Wide Disaster on our hands. You can not kill one Ocean and expect the others to survive; they are all part of the same body.
Phew! This is quite a job! I hope it makes a difference!

I disagree * The government got us INTO this situation with lax safety and inspection regulations and now the Gulf area will be loosing MORE jobs with the moratorium on drilling.....the government needs to GET OUT OF THE WAY of the technology and expertise that is available and provide WAIVERS to The JONES ACT!!!

Yup, oil spill is a mess, but my bet it will not stop the flow of oil in general. We still want to go for our many trips to the stores and waste gas in a hundred ways.

Get rid of BP and let PetroChina take the remains of the corporation as they are rumored to be planning. Will that make it better? Besides President Obama, will anyone else be happy with that outcome?
