The Media is No Longer Covering It, So There Must Be No More Radiation From Fukushima, Right?

Plutonium is the deadliest element known to man.The Media is No Longer Covering It, So There Must Be No More Radiation From Fukushima, Right?

Ten pounds of Plutonium evenly distributed could kill-off the world population 10 times over.

There were 10 tons (the equivalent of 20,000 pounds) of Plutonium in unit 3.

In the first week of meltdown, Fukushima released more radioactive Cessium than Chernobyl and ALL of the Nuclear Bombs detonated during atmospheric testing.

Chernobyl was a 7 as rated by the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA).  Fukushima should be an 8+ and still has not been contained.

There are millions of people in Japan living in radiation levels higher than those of the No-Go Zones of Chernobyl.

Since mid March 2011, large amounts of Radioactive Fallout and Hot Particles have made their way to North America.

The EPA stopped monitoring Fallout from Fukushima in late April 2011.

Before they stopped measuring radioactive fallout, radioactive Iodine, Cessium, Zeon and Uranium were measured in the U.S. at hundreds of times the legal background limit.

Prypiat, Ukraine - A 50,000 city that had to be abandoned in less than 3 hours due to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster on April, 1986. Because of the radiation on its vicinity, the region will be uninhabitable for at least the next 600 years.

Thousands of tons of radioactive water have been released by Tokyo Power and Electric Co. (TEPCO) into the Pacific Ocean, contaminating water and sea life.  Elements like Cessium and Uranium have half lives of thousands of years.

TEPCO and General Electric (GE) continue to obfuscate and hide the truth.  It took 3 months to admit that a meltdown occurred in Units 1-3 and close to four months until a melt-through had been confirmed.

The Japanese Government and TEPCO have yet to begin entombing the reactors, because radiation levels are so high, that skilled technicians and engineers can only work for minutes at a time, before receiving their yearly dose of radiation.  A few hours on site would lead to death.

“Hot Particles” are microscopic radioactive particles that travel with weather and wind patterns.  When “Hot Particles” are inhaled by humans, they lodge in Lung and Bone tissue and create Cancers in the surrounding cells.   Citizens in Tokyo, Japan, are inhaling 10 hot particles a day.  Citizens in Seattle, Washington and Los Angeles, California are inhaling 5 hot particles a day.

Radiation levels that are multiple times above legal limits, as set by the Environmental Protection Agency, have been detected in rain water, milk, fish, dairy products, vegetables, fruits and beef products in the United States.  This has not been covered by the Mainstream Media.

You are so right. It was all over the news and now nothing. Only thing I ever hear is that Honda, Toyota and Ford are having trouble getting parts for their cars. I understand they are now making these hard parts in the US. Hope the people in Japan are recovering!

My heart goes out to all those who will pay for this nuclear disaster with their lives.

Mirela,

this is quite a scary picture. I lived in the Arctic and  when Chernobyl happened people from Kiev started sending kids to other areas, and that;s how somebody ended up in the Russian Arctic city of Vorkuta. We did not know anything about the beckgrounds levels at that time.

Anyway, one morning I met a doctor (a chief doctor of the district) and he laughed and told me that one of our mutual friends got a nephew from Kiev, running from radiation, The reason he was laughing was , according to him, that our normal badkground levels of radiation were higher than those in Chernoby area

Enjoyed reading your blog post. Nothing really to add, just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post it, even though the news isn't good.

LOL That SaraMana left the EXACT same comment on my post! Slacker!

Anyway, it seems that the general public is not given accurate information on radiation levels every time there is an accident. I can't imagine that trained, investigative reporters just lose interest on the outcome after their initial reports. We all saw the airstream movements after the disaster at Fukushima. We all know that radiation does not belong in the ocean water. We were all waiting for the follow-up reports on radiation levels in areas intercepted by the jetstream. We all were waiting to hear how marine life was affected (killed and mutilated) by the dumps in the ocean. Yet, all the reports stopped. If investigative reporters and journalists, like the rest of us, did not lose interest in the story - who stifled it?

DOHA, Aug 11, 2011 (IPS/Al-Jazeera) - The aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear crisis has been marked by an outcry in Japan over radiation leaks, contaminated food and a government unable to put the public's fears to rest.

Perhaps the most worrying aspect of the meltdown that resulted from March's earthquake–triggered disaster, activists and citizens have said, is the uncertainty that has ensued.

In the months since the catastrophe, the Japanese government, its nuclear watchdogs and Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), have provided differing, confusing, and at times contradictory, information on critical health issues.

Fed up with indefinite data, a group of 50 volunteers decided to take matters, and Geiger counters, into their own hands.

It is one of the mysteries of Japan’s ongoing nuclear crisis: How much damage did the March 11 earthquake do to the Fukushima Daiichi reactors before the tsunami hit?  The stakes are high: If the quake structurally compromised the plant and the safety of its nuclear fuel, then every other similar reactor in Japan will have to be reviewed and possibly shut down.  With virtually all of Japan’s 54 reactors either offline (35) or scheduled for shutdown by next April, the issue of structural safety looms over the decision to restart every one in the months and years after.

In September 2002, TEPCO admitted covering up data about cracks in critical circulation pipes in addition to previously revealed falsifications. In their analysis of the cover-up, The Citizen’s Nuclear Information Center writes:

“The records that were covered up had to do with cracks in parts of the reactor known as recirculation pipes.  These pipes are there to siphon off heat from the reactor. If these pipes were to fracture, it would result in a serious accident in which coolant leaks out. From the perspective of safety, these are highly important pieces of equipment. Cracks were found in the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant, reactor one, reactor two, reactor three, reactor four, reactor five.”

The cracks in the pipes were not due to earthquake damage; they came from the simple wear and tear of long-term usage.  On March 2, 2011, nine days before the meltdown, the Nuclear Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) warned TEPCO of its failure to inspect critical pieces of plant equipment, including the recirculation pumps. TEPCO was ordered to make the inspections, perform repairs if needed and report to NISA on June 2nd. It does not appear that the report has been filed as of this time.

Onda Katsunobu, author of TEPCO: The Dark Empire who sounded the alarm about the firm in his book (2007) explains it this way:

“If TEPCO and the government of Japan admit an earthquake can do direct damage to the reactor, this raises suspicions about the safety of every reactor they run. They are using a number of antiquated reactors that have the same systemic problems, the same wear and tear on the piping.”

Kikuchi Yoichi, a former GE engineer who helped build the Fukushima nuclear power plant says unequivocally that, "the earthquake caused the meltdown not the tsunami.”  In his recent book Why I’m Against the Nuclear Plants I Helped Build), he explains that poorly maintained water pipes and circulation system failure were the cause of the triple meltdown.

Increasing number of patients with unexplainable decrease in white blood cells, headache, nausea. They are diagnosed for existing illness & undergo treatment, but they don't respond to the treatment at all.

When we wash their hair, it comes off in a clump. Really scary!

The Japanese government can now create another "Special District for Medical Research" in Miyagi Prefecture, in addition to the one in Fukushima.

They are saying that by the time the byproducts reach CA (2015) the nuclear elements will not be harmful.  Is that scary or what???

Bruce & Sandy:  Right!  That's why the EPA stopped monitoring it...  Not because they are afraid the numbers are too high and they might cause mass panic...

I got to the point where I don't believe anything that comes from our corporate government, its corporate regulatory agencies (Monsanto man in charge of the FDA, what a joke!) or the corporate media.  I get my news from foreign press and independent sources and do research on subjects that are important like the current Fukushima situation.

I will return to this blog again and again and post relevant updated information as I cull it.  I will also post more blogs about it in the future.  They are saying that Fukushima will be spewing radiation for the next ten years or more.  I guess I'll have lots to write about it, won't I?

Stay tuned; more coming.  In the meantime you might want to refer to this blog for many good sources of information on the Fukushima radiation issue:

I check the daily radiation levels within the US, but haven't found any monitoring of Canada.  If anyone knows of such, please post it here.

Meanwhile, here is the monitoring for the U.S.:

Workers at Japan's Fukushima plant say the ground under the facility is cracking and radioactive steam is escaping through the cracks. The cooling system at the plant failed after the devastating tsunami hit Japan in March, sparking a nuclear crisis. But new evidence suggests that Fukushima reactors were doomed to cripple even before the massive wave reached them. RT's Anissa Naouai talks to Dr. Robert Jacobs, a Professor at the Hiroshima Peace Institute.

What, you care about Radiation?  You care about the long term effects of the worst nuclear disaster yet? Don't you understand that there are illegal immigrants that can't get free everything and are taking up our media space, the great murders, killings and hatred among men due to religion, money and life that plagues our news headlines< we don't have time for Radiation, that's so yesterday.   But seriously, it is a disgrace that something so vast can be earth shattering news one day and gone the next.  Even Nuclear disasters only get 15 minutes of fame.
